 Dissertation Award 

 

Submission Criteria:

 

1. The dissertation must have been successfully defended between Jan 1, 2025 and Dec 31, 2025

 

2. The dissertation must not have been submitted for other CAFE (or its affiliates, CPES, CHEA) awards, but it may have been submitted for awards from other CSSE associations. 

 

3. The topic of the dissertation must align with CASE’s mission: "critical examinations of systems of education and the social forces that frame the relationship between educational institutions and society. This scholarship intersects with a variety of research areas within and outside of education, but primarily considers how the policies and practices of education interact with inequality of societal experiences and the politics of knowledge". 

 

4. The nomination package must include:

a) A PDF copy of the dissertation

b) A nomination letter from the supervisor or a supervisory committee member. The person nominating must be a member of CASE.. 

c) A summary of the dissertation (2500-word max)

 

Submit the nomination package to info@case-acse.ca attn: Gus Riveros, chair of the CASE Dissertation Award. Please include “CASE Dissertation Award Nomination” in the subject line. 

 

The award recipient will be announced at the AGM and will receive a commemorative plaque.
